WIP Final

I wish I had the opportunity to find out more about this man but unfortunately, I don’t even know his name.  He has such a compelling face, a story to tell and I wonder what he was thinking when his picture was taken.  I hope I have done a good job capturing him emotion and portraying his humanity.
I added more value in his face and coat before using workable fixative. Graphite dust was used on the background to create more depth.  At some point I might go back to this drawing to add more detail.

  1. I came to your post through Rookie Painter. and oh so glad I did. I can't get over your pencil work.. You should be having tons of comments,
    Your work is phenomonal. !
I too work in pencil, also watercolor, but pencil is what I'm most comfortable with. I am coming back later to see all you've done,
The new blogger captcha codes is making it harder and harder to leave comments. but I'll try . BJ

  2. Thanks Barbra, I really appreciate a pick me up right about now. I'm currently fighting a bad cold and a little behind on my blog.

Drawing is so much fun that I can't pick up a brush at times. But I'm trying a few different approaches that I have to focus on.

My plans for the summer should include a lot more watercolor paintings (plein air & florals) or maybe I can get a few really good photos to paint.

I like your drawings and paintings, especially "In memory of Angie" very nice :).
